Author Guidelines

Introduction

The SUDOOR MANTHAN-IIRS Science Portal of Indian Institute of Remote Sensing invites articles that communicate scientific knowledge, technological developments, and practical applications in the fields of Remote Sensing, GIS, Geoinformatics, Earth Observation, Environmental Science, Space Science, and allied disciplines. The objective of the publication is to present scientific information in a simple and reader-friendly manner for students, researchers, professionals, and the general public.

Eligibility of Authors

  • Authors must be affiliated with Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO Centres, DOS Centres, Units, or associated institutions under the Department of Space.
  • Articles may be submitted individually or jointly by multiple authors.

Types of Articles Accepted

The publication welcomes:

  • Original articles
  • Summaries of published research papers
  • Field observation summary reports
  • General scientific articles on specific themes or topics
  • Articles related to ISRO missions, satellites, applications, and technologies
  • Educational and awareness-based scientific write-ups

Manuscript Preparation

  • The manuscript should be written in very simple and easy-to-understand English suitable for general reading purposes.
  • Technical jargon should be minimized, and scientific terms should be explained wherever necessary.
  • The maximum length of the article should not exceed 2000 words.
  • Authors should use clear headings and subheadings for better readability.

Figures and Tables

  • Authors may include a maximum of 2–3 figures in the manuscript.
  • A maximum of 1–2 tables may be included.
  • All figures and tables should be properly numbered with suitable captions.
  • Images and graphics should be of good quality and relevant to the content.

Originality and Plagiarism Policy

  • The submitted article must be original and plagiarism-free.
  • The similarity index should be less than 10%.
  • Proper acknowledgment and citation should be provided wherever external information, images, or references are used.

Review and Editorial Process

  • All submissions will be reviewed by the editorial team.
  • The editorial board may suggest modifications related to language, formatting, clarity, or technical content.
  • The decision of the editorial board regarding acceptance or rejection of the manuscript will be final.

  • Articles should be submitted in MS Word format.
  • The manuscript should include:
    • Title of the article
    • Name(s) of author(s)
    • Affiliation(s)
    • Email address of corresponding author
    • Keywords (optional)

  • Authors are solely responsible for the accuracy and originality of the submitted content.
  • By submitting the manuscript, authors grant permission to the publication platform to publish the article for educational, scientific, and awareness purposes.
